American furniture brand Bernhardt Design, in partnership with Danish brand Danerka, will launch a range of 14 chairs by 11 designers in Milan next month, during the furniture fair.

Global Edition is the first collection to be launched in the European market by Bernhardt Design in partnership with Danerka.

The 14-piece collection was inspired by the quest to create individual pieces that transcend specific style, category, origin or time period – pieces that have a sense of permanence and quality. Eleven of the most highly respected international architecture and design studios were enlisted to create Global Edition.

Although from different backgrounds, cultures and perspectives, they worked with the same design brief and common goal of creating pieces that are timeless and simple while having a unique memorable quality.

Bernhardt Design and Danerka present Global Edition as a response to the notion that often great design, like great art, is defined by what is left out. It is a story of reduction, of stripping away to the essential.
