GRAND OPENING
May 1, 2009
More than 5000 guests came to see the reclusive Museum Director cut the blue ribbon during the grand-opening ceremony of Museum in a Shoebox. Celebrities and art stars rubbed shoulders with ambassadors, rocket scientists and other creative people. Everyone admired the floor in the great exhibition hall. After cocktails and an amazing buffet of cupcakes and cakes, the Museum turned into a decadent dance party. When the DJ started to play "Cool Rider", not even the shy Museum Director could keep herself away from the dance floor!
ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE: BJÖRN SÄFSTEN
Choreographer Björn Säfsten has been selected to be the Museum's first Artist-in-Residence. During his residency he will be working on a new performance with a team of dancers, artists and musicians. In addition to his own work, Säfsten will be involved in the Museum's activities such as symposiums, art talks and dance workshops for kids. We are looking forward to the months ahead!
