Office AIO has designed Read and Rest Hotel in Beijing, which aims to promote a lifestyle balanced between curiosity and calmness.

Designed to be a hotel with a library, the hotel features a dramatic telescopic portal into the humble entrance and its subsequent intimate journey.

Its magazine library is shaped by several recessed caves and a corridor, and through repetition and symmetry to enhance concentration and inspire exploration of the mind.

The muted colours, natural veins of timber and stone and natural oak throughout the hotel and its guest rooms, indulge its visitors like a quiet nest that soothes the senses.

This project has been longlisted in the hotel and short stay interior project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
