This week a boat-shaped apartment washed up on the roof of the Southbank Centre in London, dRMM completed a shimmering golden wedding chapel in the British seaside town of Blackpool and we showed images of Renzo Piano's new wing at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston.

The Design Museum in London unveiled the 90-strong shortlist for this year's Design of the Year award, including a device for clearing land mines, a machine that uses desert sand to print glass and a cinema under a motorway. See the full shortlist here.
