A' Design Award winners 2011
Dezeen promotion: entries are now being accepted for this year's A' Design Award. Here are some of the winning projects from last year, including this Belgian water tower converted into a residence by Mauro Brigham.

The Chateau D'eau House involved creating circular and octagonal living spaces inside the protected industrial tower, originally completed in 1941.

All the existing concrete surfaces were painted in very dark grey and the new walls are highlighted in pale warm grey.

Home 07 by I29 Interior Architects is an apartment in Amsterdam that centres on a double-height pine wall, enclosing the staircase and linking the two levels.

Cabinets in the kitchen are sprayed white while their laser-cut holes allow a glimpse of what's inside and act as handles.
