Here is some more information from Decorex:
This year, Decorex International celebrates its 35th anniversary (Sunday 23 September - Wednesday 26 September 2012).
Over the years, the show has reflected the changing tastes of designers and public alike – embracing the floral and frilly curtains of the 1980s, to the pared down loft living so beloved in the 1990s. Today, the show is more relevant than ever, showcasing international companies, cutting edge exhibitors and talent new to the market. A partner of the London Design Festival, the show takes place on the final weekend of activities, opening to the general public on the afternoon of Tuesday 25 September. This four day show, held in the grounds at The Royal Hospital Chelsea, is the longest standing UK fair, and is considered by many to be the pre-eminent luxury design and interior design show in London.

Designing the show entrance has always been a huge accolade for any designer, and the last 35 years reads like a who’s who in the design world. This year is no exception. Dame Vivienne Westwood, one of the most influential and recognised designers in the world today, who has been making and shaping trends across the decades, has taken up the challenge and will be weaving her magic to the show’s entrance. Known for her wallpaper designs and also her distinctive collection of rugs and carpets created for The Rug Company among others, Vivienne Westwood will be sourcing objects from among the Decorex exhibitors as well as using her own designs to devise a space that is likely to inspire.

As ever, there is always a strong healthy mix of contemporary, modern and traditional styles among the 300 plus exhibitors. The creative vision for the Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne Bar is being conceived by award winning Rabih Hage, one of the UK’s leading exponents of contemporary design. He is also taking a stand showcasing his new furniture collection crafted from wood and leather. Meanwhile renowned designer Christopher Guy will also be creating a show feature that reflects his distinctively classic yet contemporary approach to design.

Le Deun Luminaires perfect circle of warm LED light encased in an aluminium and steel base is one of a family of indoor and outdoor luminaries spanning table, floor and ceiling options. While Pouenat Ferronnier dramatic pendant light, Helios, has a constellation inspired form created in graphic steel and brass. Terzani is known for its dramatic and original approach to lighting design. This year, it will be launching a new collection in conjunction with Nigel Coates, former Head of Architecture at The Royal College of Art.

There is a surprising and refreshing mix of contemporary furniture on show – from the established and well known Aram Store to more individual and boutique labels. Ochre, known for their pared down luxurious simplicity have this year created an organic shaped Moon pebble table with a mercury glass top with a patinated steel frame. Nico, on the other hand, who creates individual hand-made pieces which are inlaid and made in England to commission, this year introduces an original console table in oak with boxwood inlaid edges that celebrates the art of bespoke furniture.

It could be argued that wallpaper and fabric perfectly reflect the mood of the era. Sustainability and environmental credentials are important bywords. AO Textiles new range of luxury jacquard woven fabrics and designs in partnership with Gainsborough Silk Weavers, such as its newly launched Ghost collection, brings glamour to the eco age. Miss Print is another fabric and wallpaper company that is new to Decorex. It takes influence from the British countryside mixed with mid century and Scandinavian design which is notable for its simple, clean lines and organic forms evident in “Collection 2”. The company has a UK manufacturing base and prides itself that its entire wallpaper range if PEFC certified.

Wallpaper by Deborah Bowness has found an original new outlet for displaying her handmade wallpapers, three or four panel screens featuring her aptly named Folding Wallpapered Walls with stylised and iconic references. Nature as ever is a key inspiration for designers this year as can been seen in Tania Johnson’s new stunning water collection of hand knotted rugs. “Whirl” captures the patterns formed as the water’s smooth surface is briefly transformed by the breeze and changing light. Her complex designs are artfully translated by Nepalese artisans using a combination of silk, wool and pashmina.
