Mecanoo won the competition to renovate Mies van der Rohe's library in Washington DC and a new six-storey home for Mexican design and architecture gallery Archivo was revealed.
We reported that a hydroponic farm is being constructed in a network of tunnels under south London, while Zaha Hadid Architects and other studios came up with designs for water fountains above ground around the city.
Our stories from London Fashion Week included 3D-printed elements incorporated into Pringle of Scotland's knitwear, plus collections by Central Saint Martins graduates that featured giant satin flowers and dresses that look like pot scourers.
Finally, we featured a couple of black houses such as a home in the Yucca Valley desert designed to look "like a shadow" and a residence with a periscope-shaped extension.
