Milan 2014: flower stems thread through holes in these rings by graduate designer Gahee Kang, turning the silver and gold jewellery into posies (+ slideshow).
The Spring rings by School of Art Institute of Chicago graduate Gahee Kang aren't complete until the wearer decorates them with small wild flowers.
Metal loops that protrude from the edge of the rings are used to tie on the stems. "This project creates an opportunity for friends or family to search for flowers and create arrangements together," said Kang.
Single flowers attach to create simple designs, while collections of different flora can be combined to form miniature bouquets.
The rings come as a plain band or decorated with a small metal flower. Polished gold steel and sterling silver finishes are both available.
Spring rings were displayed as part of the Whatnot 2014 exhibition at Spazio Rossana Orlandi during Milan design week earlier this month.
