A group of Nordic designers joined forces to create this simple wooden dining table for Swedish brand Fogia (+ slideshow).
Stockholm-based Note Design Studio teamed up with Norwegian designer Andreas Engesvik and Swedish designer Stefan Borselius to create the ash table named SAM – a shortening of "samarbete", which means "collaboration" in Swedish.
Components that connect the rounded top to the legs are hidden within bentwood details that curve around the joints.
"The shape of the table top and the constructive leg mounting detail gives SAM a soft and functional Scandinavian appearance," said Note cofounder Cristiano Pigazzini.
A laminate top available in light pastel colours creates a durable, wipe-clean surface, which can be paired with stained legs and joints.
The table can be disassembled for transportation and storage. The SAM range was launched in Stockholm on Friday as part of Swedish Midsummer Design Week.
All three designers also worked on products for Fogia's collection launched at Stockholm Furniture and Lighting Fair in February. The collection included colourful ash side tables and a sofa with an extended base by Note, and Borselius' minimal upholstered chairs.
