Dezeen promotion: designjunction is set to host specialist lighting trade show lightjunction from 18 to 21 September 2014.
Organised in partnership with Cameron Peters Fine Lighting and sponsored by Megaman, lightjunction expands into the basement of The Sorting Office on New Oxford Street in London, as well as taking over sections of the first and second floors as part of the designjunction exhibition during London Design Festival 2014.
Throughout the show and across all floors, lightjunction will exhibit popular decorative lighting alongside new products from brands including Marset, Zero, Channels, Fontana Arte, Artemide and Innermost, plus Anglepoise, who will showcase the Anglepoise Type75 table lamp designed by Paul Smith.
Elsewhere in the show, Artemide is set to showcase two new product collections – Empatia and Incalmo– while French lighting designers Blackbody will debut an installation created from more than two thousand OLEDs that will be suspended in mid-air.
In the basement of the former postal sorting office, visitors will be able to view British designer Jake Dyson's Ariel light – a suspension pendant that uses cooling technology to extend the life of the LED.
A new addition to lightjunction for 2014 is light-dating, which will see designers and industry professionals meet with the people behind some of the world's leading lighting brands in a series of short, rotated meetings.
Visitors will also be able to visit the site's basement bar, which is sponsored by beer brand Asahi.

Lightjunction
This September London's leading design destination – designjunction2014 – will bring a dedicated lighting show to the London Design Festival.
Now in its second year, lightjunction will showcase the best in cutting-edge decorative lighting from some of the world's leading international brands including Innermost, Lightyears, Fontana Arte, Marset, Artemide, Jake Dyson, Zero, Orsjo, Cini&Nils, Vitamin, and Anglepoise.
This year, lightjunction expands into the basement with a host of new and exciting brands, product launches and installations with a centrally-located information point to seek expert advice. Within the basement, daily 'light-dating' sessions will take place, bringing together the world's leading lighting brands with the most influential interior designers and lighting specifiers through scheduled one-to-one meetings.
Throughout the show and across all floors, various lighting brands will be launching new products. Don't miss Jake Dyson's new Ariel light - a ground-breaking suspension pendant which uses heat-sync technology to extend the life of the LED. Anglepoise collaborate with British fashion brand Paul Smith on the classic Type75 table lamp. Artemide are set to showcase two new product collections: Empatia and Incalmo. Lighting the way down to the basement area, you will see a large-scale interactive installation from Blackbody, created from more than two thousands suspended O-LED's . Artemide
Artemide is a world leader in the high-end residential and professional lighting sector.
New Launch: Incalmo - a beautiful wall lamp available in two sizes. Two equal and perpendicular discs act as wall support and host the LED optics, which diffuse indirect light with a 90% performance level.
Anglepoise
New Launch: The Anglepoise + Paul Smith collaboration (pictured) is a stunning new interpretation of the classic Anglepoise Type75 table lamp. This special edition lamp bares the unique handprint of Britain's foremost designer. Unusual deep grey-olive tones are set against sharp accents of fuchsia and lime, with cornflower and clay added to stunning effect.
Brokis
Based in the Czech Republic, Brokis produces exclusive glass lighting created by outstandingly skilful artisans who continue the age-old Bohemian glassblowing tradition.
New launches: MONA pendant lamp (pictured) is a hand blown pendant lamp with textile straps and the MONA standing lamp is a floor lamp with a glass shade. Also launching Line, a new lamp collection by Tomáš Král.
Buster + Punch
Buster + Punch, launched in 2012 is a London-born brand and brain child of Massimo Buster Minale – one of the UK's leading architects and interior designers. Buster + Punch create lighting, furniture and limited edition collections, inspired by the great blacksmiths of yesterday and refined to outlast tomorrow.
New launches: The Hero Light designed by Massimo Minale, is made from hand-formed 3mm bronzed gun metal, solid knurled brass soaked in olive oil, matte rubber detailing and finished with case cabochon LED bulbs.
Marset
Since the 1940s, Barcelona-based lighting brand Marset has taken light beyond the exterior, exploring the effects, atmospheres and characters a light fixture can create within a space. Designs are refined and contemporary supported by technical precision, creativity and innovation.
Marset launch six new lighting families at lightjunction including Discocó by Christophe Mathieu, Santorini by Sputnik Estudio, FollowMe by Inma Bermúdez, Hazy Day by Uli Budde and Ginger and Polo both by Joan Gaspar.
Lightyears
Lightyears are a Danish brand specialising in contemporary lighting – both beautiful and functional – designed by some of the world's most renowned designers.
New launches: Aeon Rocket, a pendant light in two sizes designed by Morten Voss; Lullaby, a pendant light in three sizes designed by Monica Förster; and Volume, a small table light in three colours designed by GamFratesi.
ÖRSJÖ
The ÖRSJÖ collection has been created by some of Scandinavia's leading designers including Claesson Koivisto Rune, Note Design Studio, Jonas Bohlin and Matti Klenell, producing classic designs with a contemporary edge.
New launches: Crop – floor, wall and table lamps by Note Design Studio – and Skyline, floor, wall and pendant lamps by Folkform.
Zero
Zero is a family run Swedish company manufacturing contemporary light fittings. Since its launch in 1978, innovation, quality, attraction and durability have been at the forefront of the brand, whose products pair new technology with traditional materials.
New launches: Fog pendant designed by Front Design is a pendant which appears to have no apparent light source creating the Illusion of being a mystical hovering globe. Fog is formed from classical materials and by using new technology creates an unusual effect and emitting an ambient glow.
