Foster + Partners combines the cruising yacht with the day boat to create Alen 68 vessel
News: architecture firm Foster + Partners has designed a 20-metre-long motor yacht with a white leather interior (+ slideshow).
Working with boatbuilders Alen Yacht, Foster + Partners created the Alen 68 boat to be capable of speeds up to 45 knots and to accommodate up to three cabins.
"With a streamlined form and refined materials palette of bleached oak, white leather and white onyx, its design uniquely combines the elegant social spaces of a cruising yacht with the fun of a day boat," said Foster + Partners in a statement.
On the top, the driver's bench can be elevated so more people can sit in front of the conventional wheel, automatic controls and camera screens.
A black fabric screen can be pulled over to protect this area from the elements. The deck at the back has room for three modular sun loungers.
Stairs leading down to the lounge area located in the prow, naturally top-lit by a central strip of glazing.
The master suite, with a double bed and leather chaise lounge, is located towards the stern, while the galley and bathroom are positioned in the centre.
"Unlike typical boat fittings, the furniture does not touch the inside of the hull, but traces the contours of its white leather walls," said Foster + Partners.
A jet ski and paddle boards can be stored on the back.
