Dezeen promotion: book publisher Laurence King is giving Dezeen readers a 35 per cent discount on its Detail series to celebrate the addition of two new titles to the collection.
Published this month, Detail in Contemporary Staircase Design explores 40 structurally advanced and beautifully executed staircase designs installed in offices, shopping centres and hotels from the last ten years.
The 192-page hardback explores the evolution of the staircase from a functional construction to an architectural centrepiece, citing examples created by Zaha Hadid Architects, Heatherwick Studios and Gehry Partners.
Written by Paul Barton, director of technical design at staircase manufacturer Elite Metalcraft, Detail in Contemporary Staircase Design contains 450 illustrations, with each project spread across four pages.
Detail in Contemporary Residential Architecture 2 is the second addition to the series and is also published this month.
The 224-page hardback is written by architecture lecturer David Phillips and journalist Megumi Yamashita and includes 50 residential building designs by prominent architects from around the world, analysing the technical aspects of each project.
Each book features detailed descriptions and colour photography as well as site plans, section and elevations presented at standard architectural scales to allow for easy comparison. A bonus CD containing drawings from the book, in both EPS and DWG (generic CAD) formats, is also included.
Books in the Detail collection start at £19.95 and cover a multitude of topics including glass architecture, office design and landscape architecture.
Readers can claim a 35 per cent discount of any book in the Detail series by clicking here and inputting the discount code DEZEEN35.
