Competition: three Loom Collection chairs by H to be won
Competition: Dezeen has teamed up with London furniture brand H to give readers the chance to win one of three elastic woven Loom Chairs in celebration of the brand's online shop launch.
Congratulations to the winners! Eric Blanco from Spain, Brad Gambrell from the USA and Gustav Szymala from Denmark all won a Loom chair.
Modelled on a manual belt-making loom from Oaxaca, Mexico, the Loom Collection is a contemporary seating range that is available in two versions: Loom Chair and Loom Stool.
Both styles include a natural wooden frame – available in four shades – and an elastic-polyester cord seat, but the Loom Chair also features a backrest made with the same material.
Customers have the option of selecting two colours of woven cords from a choice of eight.
The Loom Collection was built to be both light and comfortable, and is designed to be used in dining rooms and offices or as an occasional chair.
H's new online store offers free delivery and returns, as well as a bespoke service that allows customers to adapt or modify the company's existing furniture ranges: the Leather Collection, Corner Collection and Brick Collection.
For updates about H's furniture, sign up to the brand's newsletter.
This competition is now closed. Three winners will be selected at random and notified by email. The winners' names will be published in a future edition of our Dezeen Mail newsletter and at the top of this page. Dezeen competitions are international and entries are accepted from readers in any country.
Here is more information from H:
Loom Chair
The Loom Chair has a very specific inspiration — a small manual belt-making loom discovered in the city of Oaxaca, Mexico.
Threads of strong elastic polyester woven cord are stretched to create the seating area and back rest, providing a very comfortable seating experience. Each particular thread is an independent element from beginning to end — by selecting different thread colours, totally different looks and patterns are possible.
The chair's frame is available in a choice of natural woods. It is made with the utmost care and precision, where each element of the deceptively simple wooden structure has been carved by a computer-controlled CNC machine, for a super-accurate finish. The chairs are sanded and finished by hand, a process that takes around a day for two people.
Because of the combination of materials, the Loom Chair remains surprisingly light and portable, still very resistant. Comfortable, practical and elegant, it makes the perfect dining, meeting room, or occasional chair.
H also offers a bespoke service, so clients can order a Loom Chair in different sizes and customised finishes.
Loom Stool
The four-legged Loom Stool pays homage to the ancient folk art of Mexican weaving. It's an expression of the simple beams of a rudimentary loom and the journey of the individual threads, which come together to create texture, pattern and strength.
Threads of strong elastic polyester woven cord are stretched to create the seating area, providing a very comfortable seating experience. The Loom Stool has been precisely carved by a computer-controlled CNC machine and then carefully sanded and finished by hand.
The stool's frame is available in a choice of natural woods and eight different woven cords, that can be specified to create different patterns and effects.
Light, portable, resistant and versatile, the Loom Stool can be used as an occasional stool or footrest.
H also offers a bespoke service, so clients can order the piece in different sizes and customised finishes.
