Dezeen promotion: Florida interiors studio Poggi Design has teamed up with design brand Luminaire to fit out a tropical estate on La Gorce Island in Miami Beach.
Poggi Design founder Juan Poggi used products available from the Luminaire Lab in the Miami Design District to furnish the large home.
The waterfront building features a white stucco exterior that frames large expanses of glass across the facades facing onto a swimming pool.
Outdoor furniture used around the patio and pool includes the Frame sofa, Afra armchairs and Cove sun loungers, all designed by Francesco Rota for Italian and US brand Paola Lenti.
A monochrome palette is used throughout Poggi's interior design, broken up by splashes of colour used for statement design pieces and artworks.
In the family room, this is achieved with the Brazilian Campana brothers' red velvet Boa sofa for Italian manufacturers Edra, formed by lengths of pillow entwined into the shape of a seat.
Italian designer Piero Lissoni's white upholstered Extra Wall sofa is found in the foyer, beside the glass Simplicity Dining table by Carlo Santambrogio, also from Italy.
Other pieces used around the Miami Beach property include Modernist architect Mies van der Rohe's Brno chairs for American company Knoll in white leather, and German lighting designer Ingo Maurer's Oh Mei Ma ceiling lamp.

Poggi Design partners with Luminaire to complete a tropical estate on the exclusive La Gorce Island in Miami Beach
One of South Florida's most prolific interior designers, Juan Poggi has recently completed the interiors of a 15,000-square-feet tropical estate on the exclusive La Gorce Island in Miami Beach utilising some of the world's most recognised contemporary design brands carried by Luminaire Miami.
The exterior of the 15,000-square-foot estate is minimal with clean straight lines and white stucco. The estate is encased with transparent sliding glass doors that induce sunshine and Florida's lush greenery reflected on the oversized pool that spans the length of the serene patio, which is outfitted with the relaxing and lounging Frame sofa and Afra armchairs designed by Francesco Rota for Paola Lenti. Across the pool, the Cove sunbeds invite any guest to soak up the warm Florida sun. With their luminous tonalities and their timeless design, Paola Lenti outdoor furniture makes the estate become a true tropical treasure.
For the interior, Poggi chose a sleek and sophisticated range of furniture to create an environment that he describes as soft contemporary with black and white accessories, and artwork enhanced with splashes of color that is offset by polished white limestone flooring. The Extra Wall sofa designed by Piero Lissoni for Living Divani brings balance and symmetry to the living area. The family room is given an eclectic touch of texture and colour with the Campana brothers Boa sofa from Edra. The red velvet Boa rope twist sofa resembles a nest of pillows. Made for comfort are the Derby chairs by Zanotta backed in saddle leather and upholstered in grey linen stand as sculptures. The dining room's black marble wall is juxtaposed with white leather Brno chairs designed by Mies van der Rohe for Knoll around the 10-feet-long Mobile glass top table. Above, is Ingo Maurer's famous Oh Mei Ma ceiling lamp.
Poggi has been involved in the thriving Miami design industry since the 1980s. A graphic designer by training with strong foundations in interiors and architecture, Poggi considers himself an interpreter of individual's dreams and desires. For Poggi and his team the collaboration between designer and client is pivotal and essential for the synergy of ideas and creation of an environment that affects the lives of its inhabitants. A philosophy deeply shared by Luminaire which has been a long time partner of Poggi Design, furnishing their exquisite projects with some of the worlds most important contemporary design brands such as B&B Italia, Edra, Living Divani, Porro, Zanotta and others; and bringing the works of mastermind designers such as Ingo Maurer into the interiors of Poggi's one-of-a-kind projects.
