Competition: Dezeen has teamed up with publishers Nai010 to give readers the chance to win one of five books full of the most innovative new architecture projects in the Netherlands.
Congratulations to the winners! Arron Tann from the UK, James Carroll from Puerto Rico, Marta Nikolic from Serbia, Basia Strzebala from Poland and Annahi Enriquez from Mexico all won a copy of Double Dutch.
Double Dutch: Architecture in the Netherlands Since 1985 features a selection of over 100 unusual buildings completed in the country over the last 30 years.
Written by Dutch architecture critic and journalist Bernard Hulsman, the book is divided into chapters that loosely group the projects into chronological order – titled with names like An Architecture of Spectacle and F*ck the Zeitgeist.
Hulsman text describes how Postmodernism's breakthrough in the Netherlands occurred almost unnoticed and how the radical Wilde Wonen concept for anything-goes, consumer-led housing ultimately failed.
Large colour images by architectural photographer Luuk Kramer accompany Hulsman's comments on each project.
The Kunsthal in Rotterdam by Rem Koolhaas' firm OMA and the Dutch pavilion at the 2000 World Expo in Hanover by MVRDV are among the structures included.
Recently completed schemes such as the renovation of Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum and the arched Markthal Rotterdam – which features on the cover – can also be found among the 208-page paperback volume.
The publication is available to order on the Nai010 website in both Dutch and English.
This competition is not closed. Five winners will be selected at random and notified by email. Winners' names will be published in a future edition of our Dezeen Mail newsletter and at the top of this page. Dezeen competitions are international and entries are accepted from readers in any country.
