Thank you for sharing the glove! Dezeen has beaten media giants the Guardian, CNN, Vice and Google to win the People's Voice poll for best technology movie at this year's Webby Awards.
Our interview with Imogen Heap about her music-making Mi.Mu gloves, created as part of our ongoing collaboration with car brand MINI, has been named the Webby People's Voice technology video of the year 2015.
Despite having a far smaller reach than our rivals, we mobilised thousands of Dezeen readers to vote in the public poll with a bespoke "Share the glove" campaign, featuring gif images of the Mi.Mu.
The campaign, which was generously shared by Heap, MINI and many others via their own social media accounts, helped us rise to first place, overtaking the Guardian in the closing stages.
Thank you to the thousands of readers who voted for Dezeen!
We'd also like to thank our friends at the Design Museum, designjunction, Ventura Lambrate, London Design Festival, Protein, Tent London, May Design Series, Clerkenwell Design Week and the World Architecture Festival for helping spread the word.
This is the latest in a string of awards for Dezeen, with other accolades including Best Content Studio at the Digiday Publishing Awards 2015, Web Editor of the Year at the 2013 BSME Awards and Digital Publisher of the Year at the 2012 AOP Awards.
Dezeen has also been shortlisted for Website of the Year at this year's British Media Awards, competing with the Mirror, the Guardian and the Huffington Post.
Editor Anna Winston has been shortlisted for Editor of the Year (business) at the 2015 PPA Awards, while design editor Dan Howarth is also in the running for PPA Writer of the Year (business) and social media editor Ross Bryant has been nominated for a BSME Rising Stars Award.
