Competition: five Rotterdam Architecture City books to be won

Competition: Dezeen has teamed up with publishers Nai010 to offer five readers the chance to win a copy of a book that presents 100 unusual buildings in Rotterdam.

Rotterdam Centraal Station by Team CS

Congratulations to the winners! Jack Foster from the UK, Marina Battistuz de Almeida from Brazil, Abraham Burickson from the USA, Filipe Almeida from Saudi Arabia and Alex Collins from Australia.

Showcasing both historical and contemporary architecture in the area, the Rotterdam Architecture City book was produced as a "compact and up-to-date architecture guide that enriches the visitor's experience".

Markthal Rotterdam by MVRDV

The Dutch city is home to a growing number of inventive structures, including MVRDV's Markthal – a curved residential complex that arches 40 metres high over a marketplace. Find out more about the project in our interview with architect Winy Maas.

Also highlighted within the book is the city's Centraal Station, which was renovated in 2014 and now features an angular metal-clad canopy at the entrance, and OMA's colossal De Rotterdam skyscraper – watch architect Rem Koolhaas explain the project in our exclusive interview.

De Rotterdam tower by OMA

OMA's 1992 Kunsthal art gallery, which was upgraded by the firm after a robbery in 2012, is included with other city's and the 1931 Van Nelle Factory designed by architect Leendert van der Vlugta in the International Style – now a World Heritage Site.

Hofbogen viaduct

Each building, garden and park featured within the publication is marked on a detailed map of the city, along with a list of art in public spaces.

Rotterdam Architecture City book cover

Written by Paul Groenendijk and Piet Vollaard, with photography by Ossip van Duivenbode, Rotterdam Architecture City is available to buy for €19.95 (approximately £14) from the Nai010 website.

This competition has now closed. Five winners will be selected at random and notified by email. Winners' names will be published in a future edition of our Dezeen Mail newsletter and at the top of this page.
