Welcome to 2016 everyone – and thanks for making 2015 our best year ever with seven awards and a record-breaking 44 million visits!
Last year saw Dezeen open its first overseas office, setting up an editorial team in New York, which generated a huge increase in our US audience, with traffic up 10 per cent.
Overall web sessions were up over 6 per cent compared to last year, reaching almost 44 million, while users grew a whopping 12.4 per cent to just over 19 million.
Our social media audience grew massively too, particularly on Instagram, which grew over 600 per cent to 320,000 followers by the end of the year, and Pinterest, which grew 85 per cent to 600,000 followers.
2015 was also our most successful year in terms of recognition for the quality of our content, with our team scooping seven awards.
Five of these were for our video content, with our movie team beating media giants the Guardian, CNN, Vice and Google to a prestigious Webby Award.
We were also named Best Content Studio at the Digiday Publishing Awards in New York and won further gongs for our video from the Professional Publishers Association, the Association of Online Publishers and the British Media Awards.
In November, Dezeen editor Anna Winston won one of the most prestigious awards in UK journalism when she was named Business Digital Editor of the Year at the annual British Society of Magazine Editors Awards.
Earlier in the year our social media editor Ross Bryant won the BSME's Rising Stars award for Best Use of Social Media.
Thanks to all our readers for continuing to support us and we hope you'll help us make 2016 even better!
