Dezeen promotion: Architect@Work, an international trade fair showcasing architectural supplies, will take place in London on 27-28 January 2016 from 1-8pm.
Over 90 European suppliers will reveal their products and collaborations in the UK during the trade show, which is aimed at architects, designers and specifiers.
The event will also include a programme of talks surrounding a wide variety of subjects relevant to UK architects and a series of exhibitions exploring the chosen theme of wood.
"We are delighted to have been asked to examine wood in this way," said curator Annabelle Filer. "As a natural material it has so much depth to its uses and is so versatile. Our exhibition aims to explore this in an architectural context."
London's SCIN Gallery is set to present a collection of wooden objects called Growth Rings, as part of an exhibition examining the DNA and physiology of different tree species.
The Rotunda Serotina installation – the product of a collaboration between the American Hardwood Export Council, designers Kolman Boye and furniture-makers Benchmark – will be also be on show.
In a talk chaired by Wallpaper architecture editor Ellie Stathaki, the designers will discuss the Scandinavian wood tradition, the qualities of the American cherry and maple, as well as the methods they used to create the Rotunda Serotina.
Patrick Richard from UK architecture firm Stanton Williams will be in conversation with broadcaster and architectural historian Tom Dyckhoff on the advantages and disadvantages of working on projects in a variety of different European countries. See a full talks programme and schedule on the event website.
Dezeen and Dezeen Jobs are media partners for the event, which takes place at London's Olympia National venue in Kensington 27-28 January, 1-8pm. Visit the event website for more information, and to register to attend using code 7500.

Architect@Work
Architect@Work, a carefully curated trade fair in the UK aimed at architects, designers and specifiers, unveils exciting collaborations, exhibitions and talks for its 2016 edition at Olympia National hall on the 27 and 28 January.
Over 90 of Europe's top architectural suppliers will reveal their innovations in the UK for the first time. All of these companies have gone through a rigorous selection process, with an external judging panel overseeing the product selection.
This process ensures this is one of the UK's most highly respected, curated trade shows of its kind showing the latest products from surface solutions and lighting technology to interior and exterior fittings and fixtures.
This year's London Architect@Work has chosen wood as its theme. To honour this material, London's SCIN Gallery, Materials Library and Resource, presents a collection of wood curiosities called Growth Rings. The exhibition examines the species of trees that give us the wood we use in architecture, it looks at the DNA of wood and its physiology.
The American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) partnered with designers Kolman Boye and furniture-makers Benchmark to create a towering structure of food plates in a commission for Wallpaper* Handmade 2015 called the Rotunda Serotina.
The three-storey general store will be presented in London for the first time as part of Architect@Work and also plays to the wood theme for this edition.
A lively talks programme includes: Swedish Architects Kolman Boye, an in-conversation with architectural historian and broadcaster Tom Dyckhoff, and UK architects from Stanton Williams, Karakusevic Carson Architects, Flanagan Lawrence and Simpson Haugh & Partners.
This must see event runs from 1pm to 8pm on the 27 and 28 of January, and there is free catering, a VIP and press lounge, and a pop up architectural bookshop by RIBA. CPD is available.
