Milan 2016: it's an overcast day in Milan, but that hasn't stopped visitors exploring the city and posting to our #milanogram2016 tag as they head to events and installations. Read on for a selection of today's best images.
Animals are a popular theme at design week this year and the petting zoo at Design Academy Eindhoven's Touch Base exhibition in Ventura Lambrate is proving a big draw, with visitors particularly enjoying the goats and sheep.
All the exhibits at the show, staged by the school's students in collaboration with London designer Ilse Crawford, have been created to explore tactility. One such project is the Vulsa Versa mirror, which aims to eradicate taboos surrounding intimate female areas.
People are also checking out the scenic courtyard of the Baroque-style Palazzo Litta today, which has been transformed into a "neo-African village" by Berlin-based architect Diébédo Francis Kéré.
Nendo's half black, half white installation to display of marble furniture for design brand Marsotto Edizioni is proving particularly Instagram-friendly too. The exhibition is taking place in Spazio Bigli at Milan's Palazzo Ponti, and remains open until 17 April 2016.
Lots of people are still recovering from parties hosted around the city last night. Italian brand Gufram, which has just releases a Paul Smith-designed striped version of its cactus-shaped coat stand, teamed up with Wallpaper* and Toiletpaper magazines for an event that included samba bands and designers riding in rickshaws.
London designer Lee Broom posed with one of the candid placards at the party, leftover from the previous evening's Design Pride march.
As design week begins to wind down, visitors are also squeezing in trips to buildings and exhibitions around the city. Among the most popular is Italian architect and designer Alessandro Mendini's installation at the ROOMS: Novel living concepts show, part of the la Triennale di Milano 21st Century – Design After Design exhibition that runs until 16 September.
Mendini's design comprises geometrically decorated laminate walls that each feature a mirror or a light source. ROOMS is curated by Beppe Finessi in collaboration with the Salone del Mobile furniture fair and features spaces by 11 different designers.
Another popular side attraction during the design week is the Fondazione Prada art centre by Rem Koolhaas' firm OMA, which is currently hosting a show by artist Thomas Demand that includes a huge grotto.
The century-old former distillery in Milan was converted into a new arts centre for Fondazione Prada in May last year, and features a "haunted house" clad in 24-carat gold leaf and a cinema camouflaged by mirrors inside.
