Reality stars the Kardashians have emerged as unlikely fans of Modernist architecture, with Kris Jenner revealing on their TV show that she's reading a book about "Le Courvoisier, which is an architect" (+ movie).
Aiming to refer to French-Swiss architect Le Corbusier, the Kardashian family matriarch discusses the book during an exchange with daughter Khloe.
The conversation goes as follows:
The clip comes from an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that aired in June 2016, but was circulated by the show's production company E! in celebration of America's National Book Lovers Day on 9 July.
Pioneering architect Le Corbusier designed some of the world's most significant Modernist buildings during the 20th century. His best-known projects include the Ronchamp chapel, the Villa Savoye private house and the Unité d'Habitation housing complex.
Seventeen of his buildings were recently added to UNESCO's World Heritage List.
The Kardashian family shot to fame on the back of their reality TV show, which has run for 12 seasons. Kim Kardashian – Kris' daughter and Khloe's sister – is married to rapper Kanye West, who regularly publicises his passion for architecture and design.
In 2013, West said that he is working with five architects at a time during a radio interview.
He also declared his ambitions to design for Swedish furniture company Ikea earlier this year.
