Three different shapes rendered in three distinct materials come together in the Elements table, launching at Biennale Interieur this week.
Designed by London studio Made in Ratio, the table has a simple circular top, a prismatic triangle base and an angled, stainless-steel stem connecting the two.
Each of these three elements is made from the material considered to be its best match. The base is heavy marble for stability, the top is wood for tactility, and the rod is steel for strength.
"Each component of Elements utilises its unique material attributes applied to the stability, elevation and functionality of a simple yet charismatic table," said Made in Ratio founder Brodie Neill.
"Its almost primitive geometry gives the table a nimble versatility."
The Elements table's marble base and stained oak wood top come in a range of colours that can be mix and matched.
The table launches at the Biennale Interieur design fair in Kortrijk, Belgium, which runs from 14 to 23 October 2016.
Australian designer Neill recently created his home country's display for the inaugural London Design Biennale – a terrazzo-effect table made from recycled ocean plastics.
His Made in Ratio studio is based in London and often explores experimental processes, as in its stackable Alpha chair, carved from a single block of wood through CNC cutting.
