Dezeen promotion: designer Daniela Dallavalle has created a porcelain tile collection for Italian brand Ceramiche Refin featuring textured surfaces based on different types of fabrics.
The Arte Pura tile collection uses patterns from Dallavalle's lace and macramé mosaics as well as her linen pictures to create three textured stoneware tiles.
The ranges within Arte Pura – named Trame, Rilievi and Grafismi – are designed to be used separately or in combination with other tiles for a variety of design-focused interior spaces.
Rilievi is decorated with imprints of lace and fragmented embroidery on its surface, while Trame features a rough texture that looks like layers of torn linen.
The Grafismi style is based on Dallavalle's more abstract work, and has graphic doodles and sketches on its surface.
This tile has the same textured background as Trame, and is intended to be used as a focal point on a wall.
All three ranges within Arte Pura are available in four colours: grey-blue, white, sandy beige and light grey. They come in two tiles sizes – 37.5 by 75 centimetres or 75 by 75 centimetres – and are suitable for interior floors and walls.
