Architects, designers and industry figures including Patrik Schumacher, Michael Young, Alison Brooks and Lee Broom joined Dezeen at London's Ace Hotel last week to celebrate the launch of the inaugural Dezeen Hot List.
Teams from Neri&Hu, Snøhetta, Barber and Osgerby, Studioilse, Haptic and COS also came along to mark the launch of the Hot List – the most comprehensive data survey of architecture and design media ever conducted.
Supported by Adrem, the 400-strong list is based entirely on audience data. It reveals the key players, the newsmakers and the emerging talents in the design world, as well as the trends and news events that have shaped the sector.
Guests enjoyed drinks provided by Bacardi and Double Dutch, and all those who featured on the Hot List wore badges emblazoned with the slogan "I'm hot" or "We're hot".
Everyone that came also went home with a goodie bag filled with products by Aesop, Mast Brothers, Tom Dixon, Alessi, LELO, Ferm Living, Native Union, Moooi and Dezeen Watch Store.
We hope the publication of the Hot List will become a key moment in the design world's calendar, tracking changes in popularity and newsworthiness year by year. The result is, we believe, a fascinating insight into the design landscape and the people and organisations that make the news in our sector.
