London's Royal College of Art is the design school that Dezeen readers most want to hear about, finds our inaugural Dezeen Hot List.
The RCA – whose graduates this year produced projects ranging from a stone-sculpting glove to a tent that transforms into a sleeping bag – ranked higher than any other school in the Hot List, the most comprehensive survey of architecture and design media ever conducted.
The list also shows that The Bartlett is the most important architecture-only school to Dezeen readers, while Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is the most influential technology-focused education establishment.
Based entirely on audience data, the 400-strong Dezeen Hot List reveals the key players and emerging talents in the design world. It was compiled using hundreds of thousands of search returns and over 100 million page views.
The top five schools on Dezeen Hot List are counted down in this video
The Schools Hot List is made up of just nine names. Surprisingly, five of these are in London – possibly because Dezeen's UK-based editors visit more graduate shows in their own country.
But one of these is actually not a design school – the London School of Economics made the list, thanks to a series of new buildings by architects including O'Donnell + Tuomey and Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.
Other universities on the Schools Hot List include Design Academy Eindhoven, ÉCAL and TU Delft. However New York's schools, including Columbia GSAPP and Parsons, are noticeably missing.
