These plates by Constance Guisset have the illusion of being soft and malleable, but they are actually solid ceramic.
The Canova collection was created by the French designer for brand Moustache, and launched during the Maison&Objet furniture fair earlier this month.
Guisset, who previously designed a tabletop machine for wine tasting, based the collection on visual trickery, and used hand moulding to create the plates' uneven, puffy-looking surface.
"Canova is a collection of trompe-l'oeil plates, a tribute to sculpture," said Guisset. "Their shapes were first carefully modelled by hand. This patient work creates an illusion of smoothness in the lively and tense matter of the ceramics."
Each plate comes in two sizes and five colours – white, green, water mint, burgundy and light pink.
The Canova collection launched at this month's Maison&Objet furniture fair, which took place in Paris from 20 to 24 January 2017.
Products that also launched at the fair include a collection of reimagined kitchen tools by Alain Gilles and a coffee table based on the "restraint and detailing" of a bentwood box associated with Shaker folklife.
Guisset founded her eponymous studio in 2009. She studied business before enrolling at ENSCI design school, from which she graduated in 2007.
