Dezeen promotion: textile brand Camira has unveiled a report of key colours, fabrics and moods expected to influence commercial interiors for the next two years.
Evolution: Global Trend Directions 2017/18 is Camira's second trend forecast. It explores the ways that ideas, habits and tastes change over time.
Developed and researched by Camira's design team, and trend consultant and writer Sally Angharad, the report guides readers through four trends – Quest, Visionary, Habitat and Co-Create.
Each theme is represented in projects from designers and artists, along with keywords and images by stylist and photographer Rian Crabtree, which document colour palettes and fabrics.
"Our design team spend a huge amount of time researching trends and looking at the wider factors that influence design for commercial interiors," Camira's design manager Catherine Counsell explained.
"The trend report has provided an opportunity for Camira to share that insight, knowledge and expertise while providing a platform for readers to take an alternative look, explore their curiosity and have a resource to use when developing new projects."
Camira's website offers regular updates and further insight into each trend, from studying the colour palette, mood and aesthetics, to expanding on the colour combinations and looking at case studies that reflect the essence of the trends.
