Dezeen promotion: designjunction will return to Kings Cross for this year's London Design Festival, with over 200 brands showcasing products across four venues.
Following the success of its 2016 edition, which attracted 27,000 visitors across four days, designjunction plans to expand into new locations in Kings Cross for London Design Festival 2017.
A mix of over 200 global furniture, lighting and accessory brands will exhibit alongside pop-up shops, installations, and interactive features within the four venues: Cubitt House, The Canopy, Granary Square and The Crossing.
Like last year, Cubitt House will feature a host of international design brands presenting their latest collections, such as Lammhults, Design House Stockholm, Friends and Founders, Fredericia, and Icons of Denmark.
British brands Channels, Decode, Another Country and Very Good & Proper will exhibit on the top floor of Cubitt House.
Meanwhile the ground floor will be dedicated to lightjunction, which presents a curated selection of lighting solutions by global brands. Previous exhibitors include Blackbody, Artemide, Marset and Slamp.
The Material Collective, also located on the ground floor of Cubitt House, is a collaboration with materials library and advisory gallery SCIN.
During the event, it will present the materials of today and tomorrow, and suggest how they can be applied to architecture and products.
At The Crossing, designjunction will team up with watch brand Rado to launch the first UK edition of the Rado Star Prize.
This design contest will explore the theme of Design meets Time, focusing on innovative and timeless homeware. To enter, candidates can submit their projects online. The competition is open to final year graduates of design-related courses, as well as emerging designers.
The Canopy will return as a temporary pop-up venue for premium retail brands and emerging design labels, selling everything from fashion accessories to technology, ceramics, glassware and stationery.
This year's mix of brands includes Cherchbi, Holdall & Co, Korridor, Melin Tregwynt, Oggetto, One We Made Earlier, Tom Pigeon and Void Watches.
The centrally located Granary Square will feature large-scale installations, similar to the eight giant monopoly houses that dotted the site in 2016.
Applications to exhibit at designjunction are now open. To apply, visit the event website. For more information about designjunction visit www.thedesignjunction.co.uk.
