Italian designer Matteo Zorzenoni has styled seven sets with his latest lighting, furniture and blown-glass objects to showcase their potential in colourful interiors.
Zorzenoni installed the boxes inside Ventura Projects' new location at the Centrale Station during this year's Milan design week.
The exhibition, called Sets, presented the designer's latest products created in collaboration with three Italian brands – lighting with MM Lampadari, blown-glass objects with Nason Moretti and furniture with Scapin.
Five of the open cubes featured a combination of these products complemented by walls with different colours and textures, while the final two were each dedicated to a specific product range.
"The best way to present their products is create seven different micro-coloured rooms with textured walls that help the visitors to understand how can they use the products in different situations or houses," Zorzenoni told Dezeen.
"So, in each box there's Scapin furniture with a glass vase made by Nason Moretti and everything is illuminated by an MM Lampardi light."
Tables with cantilevered tops, a circular mirror, a standing light and a pendant lamp featured in a box with yellow-toned walls, while the darker orange hues of another set were accented with blue shelving filled with dark glass vases.
In the same box, Zorzenoni placed a pair of black pendant lights above a table topped with a glass jug and two cups covered in white swirls. The glassware, made using the traditional Venetian technique, is called Twist.
Light pink walls lined a set featuring an art deco-style mirror, a black table and shelving, with a simple two-pronged black chandelier that hung above the table setting.
For the smaller light green set, Zorzenoni created a playful scene featuring a pink cabinet, and yellow and pink tables.
A large mirror with rounded corners occupied one side of the light blue box, while a white cupboard with rounded openings in the doors and green legs, was placed on the other. The box also contained a pair of stools – one with a pink top and white base, and another with a white top and orange base – and a gold pendant light with two circular shades.
The other two sets showcased a single product range each. A blue box with diagonal indentations was occupied by the Leaf Chandelier made in satin copper, while a long and thin display showcased the four new collections of blown-glass objects.
This included the Roking Mountain collection, a set of triangular vases in different heights and hues.
Dezeen was media partner for Ventura Centrale during Milan design week, which took place from 4 to 9 April 2017.
Luca Nichetto filled a room with totem-like glass lamps for the exhibition, while Lee Broom created a modernist merry-go-round to showcase 10 years of his work.
