Dezeen promotion: Wilsonart has added six new designs to its solid-surface collection, based on the theme of "timeless luxury".
The new designs join Wilsonart's catalogue of acrylic solid-surface materials, designed to be long-lasting and used for a number of applications.
Like the rest of the brand's Timeless Luxury collection, the six designs are intended to have a high-end feel.
"Today, luxury takes on a new meaning," said Wilsonart design manager Natalia Smith. "It no longer resembles the desire for needless consumption but instead has become an expression of thoughtful choices focused on quality, longevity and ease of maintenance for interior materials."
One colour, named Arctic Dune, features a white-on-white pattern and is speckled with shimmering flecks. Both Arctic Dune and the new solid colour Luminous White can be backlit.
Grey Beola – modelled on quartz – is a medium cool grey with white, charcoal and warm grey running throughout.
The remaining three shades are designed to look like concrete and take on a range of colours and textures commonly found in the material.
Kimberlite is a warm grey colour and has clear and translucent particles scattered throughout; Brooklyn Concrete is a medium cool grey with white, brown and black flecks; and Tumbled Stone is a light taupe full of particulates in various neutral shades.
Founded in 1956, Wilsonart manufactures and distributes engineered surfaces, including solid-surface, quartz and specialty laminate. The company launched its new solid-surface designs during this year's NeoCon fair in Chicago, which took place from 12 to 14 June.
