Dezeen has teamed up with Swedish company Sandqvist to give one reader the chance to win a heavy cotton backpack from its Grand Canvas range.
The winner will get to choose from the three styles in the range – Alva, Hege or Jones – and three available colours: black, blue or beluga green.
Each unisex bag is made from a mixture of heavy cotton canvas, high-quality leather and silver metal fittings. The brand says they are well-suited to everyday use, both for work and leisure.
The Stockholm-based company is best-known for its minimal and functional backpacks, bags and accessories, which it claims draw on the brand's Nordic heritage.
"The landscape with its forests, rivers and vast unpopulated areas as well as an urban city lifestyle have always been our main inspiration," said Sanqvist.
The 11-litre Alva backpack is the smallest of the three bags. Inside, it features a 13-inch laptop sleeve, slip pockets and one zip-up pocket. The Hege backpack is slightly more spacious, with room inside for a 15-inch laptop.
The Jones bag has both adjustable and removable shoulder straps that allow it to be carried not only as a backpack, but also a cross-body bag or a briefcase. It also features a 15-inch laptop sleeve and a series of inner pockets.
All three bags feature adjustable cotton shoulder straps to make them comfortable to carry when packed heavily.
They are constructed from a cotton canvas body – available in black, blue and green – as well as black vegetable-tanned leather details and a grey lining.
The bags can be purchased from the Sandqvist website or in store. The Alva backpack is available for £165, Hege for £199, while the Jones bag is £235.
Sandqvist was founded in 2004 by Anton Sandqvist, together with his brother Daniel, and their friend Sebastian. The brand has stores in London, Stockholm and Göteborg, with a new store opening in Berlin in mid-October.
