Takei-Nabeshima-Architects has released new renderings of its concrete holiday home designed for French developer Christian Bourdais' Solo Houses series.

TNA's dream holiday home is an upside-down concrete pyramid

Takei Nabeshima ArchitectsĀ has released new renderings of its design for an extravagant concreteĀ holiday home, which forms part ofĀ French developer Christian Bourdais'Ā Solo HousesĀ series.

The Tokyo-based practice, led by MakotoĀ Takei and Chie Nabeshima, isĀ one of the 15Ā firms commissioned by Bourdais to create an ultimate holidayĀ home, whichĀ will eventually be built in Spain's mountainous MatarraƱa regionĀ as part of his Solo Houses project.

Each architect has been given carte blanche to come up with any concept within a set budget.

Of the 15Ā proposed holiday homes, two have been completed.Ā The first was aĀ symmetrical concrete residence by Chilean studio Pezo Von Ellrichshausen, whileĀ Office Kersten Geers David Van Severen'sĀ ring-shaped residence was completed earlier this year.

Other planned Solo Houses include aĀ circular house with a paddling pool on the roof byĀ Johnston Marklee, aĀ house encased in a lattice of giant sticks by Sou FujimotoĀ and aĀ building based on the form of an explosion by Didier Faustino.

Wedged into a hillside, TNA'sĀ inverted pyramid structure comprisesĀ fourĀ floors, includingĀ a rooftop with a pool.

While the exterior renderings show an earlier version of the design, where the pool is located outside of the structure, the newer interior renderings show the most recent iteration of the design, which featureĀ a smaller pool sunk into theĀ structure's roof.

OverlookedĀ by theĀ living room and entrance, which are positioned up above on two separate mezzanines, theĀ dining room takes centre stage on the ground floor. At its centre is a dining table, while the adjoining kitchen, machine room and pantry are all set back into the hillside.

Angular windows cut into the house's sloping walls provide views over the hillside, while two staircases lead from the dining room up to theĀ living room and entrance mezzanines.

A staircase leads up from the entrance to a largeĀ lounge space and three large bedrooms, which are arranged around the building's perimeter and linked byĀ a hallway that wraps the wall of the rooftop pool. A staircase from the hallway leads up to the rooftop and its square-shaped pool.

TheĀ Solo Houses website describes the buildingsĀ asĀ "a collection of unique secondary residences designed by the new guard of young international architects".

They are being built inĀ MatarraƱa,Ā in the north-east of the Els Port nature park, between Barcelona, ā€‹ā€‹Valencia and Saragossa, surrounded by 100Ā hectares of countryside.

AĀ hotel designed by Chilean architect Smiljan Radić, will sit at the centre of the development, functioning asĀ a hub forĀ all the services and activities that the development offers. Other features will include "an exceptional outdoor course combining art and architecture", createdĀ byĀ landscape architect Bas Smets and Serpentine GalleriesĀ director Hans-Ulrich Obrist.
