Dezeen has teamed up with New York design brand GAN to give away stools by Japanese studio Nendo, which are entwined in metal loops that increase in density towards the top.
Five readers will each win one of the low stools in Nendo founder Oki Sato's Aram collection for design brand GAN, which also includes a taller level stool, and tables in two heights.
Sato based the technique used to create the designs on traditional metalwork in India. The pieces are formed using a metal frame, which thinner steel wires are woven around.
To add a point of difference, the designer set bigger gaps between the wires at the base and then tightened them as the furniture tapers out at top. The increased density strengthens the colour of the wire.
"The open gaps between the wires gradually increase, creating a sensation of gradation," said Sato. "A design created thanks to a small change applied to an existing technique."
The Aram High Table, Low Table, High Stool and Low Stool are available in a range of hues, including white, taupe, sand, bronze, green, yellow and a darker, grey anthracite tone. The powder-coated stainless steel wire makes them available for both indoors and outdoors.
Oki Sato founded Nendo in 2005 and is well-known for his relentless outpouring of design, previously revealing to Dezeen that he finds designing 400 projects at a time relaxing.
Among his studio's most recent projects are a temporary toilet for those affected by natural disasters, five alternatives to the zipper and a range of minimal packaging for an organic cosmetics company.
The Low Stools retail for $490 (£373) and five winners will each win one in the colour of their choice. This competition is only open to readers based in the US and Canada.
The entire Aram collection is also available to purchase from GAN's online shop, or by contacting its New York showroom, located at 52 Greene Street.
