Fashion brand Charlotte Olympia has launched a pair of high-heeled shoes and a clutch bag, which were designed in collaboration with the late architect Zaha Hadid.
Made from perspex with rose gold accents, the platform heel shoes and transparent clutch bag both feature fluid shapes that reference Hadid's signature sculptural style.
Charlotte Olympia founder Charlotte Dellal met Hadid in 2015, and the pair decided to collaborate on a luxury fashion collection.
Hadid's own accessories brand, Zaha Hadid Design, had previously collaborated with the likes of Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Donna Karan.
After Hadid passed away last year at the age of 65, Charlotte Olympia continued to work with Zaha Hadid Design to realise the planned collection.
"We are always delighted to work with clients who share our passion for bold design and pristine craftsmanship," said director of Zaha Hadid Design Maha Kutay.
"Charlotte Olympia and her team have masterfully translated our ideas into reality in two fantastic pieces of superb quality."
"Zaha Hadid was a phenomenal person to have known and her work and aesthetic are constant sources of inspiration for me," added Dellal.
"It was an honour and privilege to have worked with her and to continue working with her fantastic team on this dream collaboration."
The limited edition shoes are priced at £1,600 and the bag is £2,600. Both come in black packaging with rose gold accents – another reference to the swooping curves favoured by the Iraqi-born British architect.
The collection launches on November 21 and will be available exclusively from Charlotte Olympia retail stores and online.
Charlotte Olympia specialises in feminine designs that combine nostalgia for old Hollywood glamour with modern kitsch. Signature styles include a golden spider web and slippers embroidered with cat faces.
Dellal founded the luxury shoes and accessories brand in 2008.
She is the daughter of Brazilian model Andréa de Magalhães Vieira and property developer Guy Dellal, the son of property tycoon Jack Dellal. Her younger sister is the fashion model Alice Dellal, and her brother Alex owns the east London art gallery 20 Projects.
Baghdad-born British architect Zaha Hadid established Zaha Hadid Architects in 1979. Her most famous projects include the Vitra Fire Station in Weil Am Rhein, Germany, and the Cardiff Bay Opera House in Wales.
A highly decorated architect, she was awarded the 2004 Pritzker Prize, as well as the Republic of France's Commandeur de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Japan's Praemium Imperiale.
She won the prestigious Stirling Prize two years on the trot, first in 2010 with the MAXXI Museum in Rome, and again in 2011 for the Evelyn Grace Academy in London. In 2012 was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
Along with these skyscraper shoes, her aesthetic legacy continues in the work of Zaha Hadid Design, which sells architecturally inspired homewares, accessories and jewellery.
