Skýli mountain shelter is designed to withstand extreme weather conditions
This tent-like steel and cross-laminated timber cabin, designed by Utopia Arkitekter as a retreat for for mountain trekkers, was a big hit with Dezeen's followers, obtaining over 38,000 likes.
Titled Skýli, which translates to "shelter" in Icelandic, the proposed structure would house up to 15 mountaineers with space to store hiking gear and cook food.

Studio Libeskind completes Canada's first Holocaust monument in Ottawa
An image of Studio Libeskind's finished National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa is the most liked post on Dezeen's Instagram account from the past 12 months.
The project, which was liked by over 38,600 users, is Canada's first monument to honour Holocaust victims. It is made up of tall concrete walls that are laid out to appear like a warped version of the Star of David.
