The third edition of the Frieze Art & Architecture Conference takes place at The Royal Institution in London on Tuesday 2 October 2018, coinciding with the Frieze London and Frieze Masters art fairs.
Featuring a range of architects who have just completed cultural building projects, the conference will explore how the role of the institution is changing.
It will question the extent to which cultural buildings should be public spaces, and whether museums and galleries have a function beyond exhibition.
Shigeru Ban, who won the Pritzker Prize in 2014, will discuss projects ranging from La Seine Musicale in France to the Mount Fuji World Heritage Centre in Japan.
Ellen van Loon will talk about OMA's cultural buildings, including the new BLOX architecture centre in Copenhagen, while Jamie Fobert will describe his design for Tate St Ives, among others.
The lineup also includes British architect Richard Rogers, who will look back over various cultural projects from over 50 years in practice, and Joseph Grima, a curator who has previously directed the Chicago Architecture Biennial and the Istanbul Design Biennial.
Other speakers include Thai architect Kulapat Yantrasast, design critic Alice Rawsthorn, writer Amy Sherlock, and artists Christopher Kulendran Thomas and Andrea Zittel.
The Frieze Academy Art & Architecture Conference takes place from 10am to 4.30pm on 2 October 2018. We are giving away one pair of tickets.
Tickets are also available to purchase online and Dezeen readers that book before 22 July benefit from an early-bird discount of £100. Student tickets are also available for just £50.
Competition closes 17 August 2018. One winner will be selected at random and notified by email, and their name will be published at the top of this page.
