Dubai's Downtown Editions will highlight limited edition pieces made by regional designers
Dezeen promotion: the craft of regional designers will be the focus of 2018's Downtown Editions, a design showcase in Dubai that features limited edition creations from around the world.
This year's Downtown Editions will take place as part of the city's Downtown Design fair, which has been held annually since 2013. The event will run from 13-16 November 2018.
Displaying rare design pieces from across the globe, the event will specifically highlight creations by regional designers and studios, aiming to connect them with the wider international market.
"Living alongside Downtown Design, Downtown Editions will present exciting design talent from around the world, with a focus on the region," said Rue Kothari, fair director of Downtown Design.
"Uniting commerce and creativity, this new platform will [also] connect brands and designers from around the world to the buyers of the Middle East, and help educate a new generation locally about the creative and commercial potential of design," continued Kothari.
Soft furnishings, kitchen suites, lighting options, textiles, and home accessories will all be shown at the Downtown Design fair, displayed inside a waterfront venue that overlooks the Dubai Creek and the city skyline.
Visitors will also be able to attend a selection of workshops, panel discussions and talks with industry experts that will explore changes and innovations occurring within the field of design.
Downtown Editions will run from 13-16 November 2018 at the d3 waterfront, Dubai Design District. It coincides with Dubai Design Week, which last year also celebrated the work of emerging designers with the Middle East: Design Now! exhibition.
