Dezeen will speak to Azusa Murakami and Alexander Groves of Studio Swine at Brooklyn creative space A/D/O on 2 October 2018. Read on for details and to register to attend.
Dezeen's US editor Dan Howarth will speak to Japanese architect Murakami and British artist Groves of Studio Swine about their past projects, latest investigations, and the potential for using technology within art and design practices.
The London-based duo often take inspiration from the natural world in their work, with past installations including a sculptural tree that blossoms with mist-filled bubbles and a towering structure that "breathes" scented vapour rings.
The event takes place on Tuesday 2 October at 6:30pm at A/D/O, a creative space in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighbourhood. It is located at 29 Norman Avenue in Brooklyn.
Readers can register to attend via Eventbrite. Seats are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The talk will also be available to watch live on Dezeen's Facebook page.
Studio Swine currently has a design residency at A/D/O, which will result in a series of new works that will be exhibited later in the year.
It is the third in a series of talks hosted by Dezeen at the space. The two previous talks explored the design and architecture scenes in New York, featuring panels of local designers and architects based in the city.
A/D/O was setup in 2016, as part of a design initiative by MINI. Housed in a converted warehouse, the venue works with designers to help them to both create and showcase projects.
Previous installations at the space include 16 rotating gold-mirrored columns created by British design studio United Visual Artists. Titled Spirit of the City, the installation was designed to represent the experience of New York City.
