Dezeen promotion:Â interior designers the Sundukovy Sisters and Dezeen's Marcus Fairs are on the programme of the Villeroy and Boch Smart Design and Wellbeing 2018 conference taking place in Barcelona.
The Villeroy and Boch Smart Design and Wellbeing conference will combine talks from expert speakers on the design of interior spaces for hospitality with a roundtable discussing the future of wellbeing and interior design.
Hosted by Marcus Fairs, co-founder and editor-in-chief of Dezeen, the roundtable of speakers from the event will focus on how wellbeing is being integrated into interior design.
Titled Innovative Interiors, the talk will tackle issues that impact wellbeing in hospitality design, including urbanisation, connectivity, individualisation and ageing populations.
Russian designers Irina and Olga Sundukovy, founders of S+S, will join Fairs. The pair have designed award-winning hospitality interiors across the world, including projects for hotel chains including Accor, IHG, Carlson Rezidor, Hilton and Marriott.
Also talking at the conference will be Natali Canas del Pozo, partner and creative director of El Equipo Creativo, which designed Barcelona's One Ocean Club.
The line-up is completed by Pepe Leal, founder of Pepe Leal studio, and team director of Barcelona-based GCA Architects, Andrea Navarro Golobart.
Pepe Leal studio recently completed an installation for Loewe in Madrid, while GCA Architects has designed interiors for the Lille Hotel Arts, Boho Hotel Prague and Six Senses Kaplankaya, in Turkey.
Topics of discussion on the agenda include trends in designing publicly accessible spaces such as hotel lobbies, and how to create interiors that are attractive to both local people and travellers.
Also on the agenda is how design can be used to communicate the unique philosophy of a space, and what's most important to bear in mind when creating contemporary multi-functional rooms.
