Maison&Objet

Architect@Work

Madrid Design Festival
1–28 February, Madrid, Spain
Every February, the Spanish capital is transformed into a celebration of design. The festival's programme aims to transform attitudes to design and how it can impact every life and environment. This year's committee members include Jasper Morrison and Lucas Muñoz.

Stockholm Design Week
4–10 February, Stockholm, Sweden
With over 200 events, this celebration of Scandinavian design consists of exhibitions and installations all across the city. As the place where most Swedish, Danish and Norwegian design brands launch their annual collections, it often reveals the interior design trends that will define the year. Highlights will include an installation by Note Design Studio, following up their impressive project The Lookout in 2018.

Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair
5–9 February, Stockholm, Sweden
Under the Stockholm Design Week umbrella, this furniture and lighting exhibition will this year contain over 700 exhibitors, including manufacturers of Swedish design classics and rising young designers.

Surface Design Show

Nomad St Moritz
7–11 February, St Moritz, Switzerland
Collectible design fair returns to St Moritz for a second year, to showcase collectible design in the Chesa Planta mansion. The event, organised by curators Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte and Giorgio Pace, takes on a winter theme, to contrast with its sister event in Monaco in the spring.

XXII La Triennale di Milano
1 March – 1 September, Milan, Italy
The Triennale di Milano returns in 2019 with the theme Broken Nature. Curated by MoMA's Paola Antonelli, exhibitions will provoke the discussion on how architecture and design can promote the importance of thinking for the future of our species.

Coinciding with Design Shanghai, this new festival by Neri&Hu's Design Republic intends to embrace the communal aspects of design. Melbourne Design Week

Collectible
14–17 March, Brussels, Belgium
Collectible returns for its second edition mid-March to the Bâtiment Vanderborght – a former furniture store from the 1930s. Galleries and design studios are selected by an expert committee to create an immersive experience for the fair's visitors.

Arctic Design Week
18–23 March, Lapland, Finland
This year's Arctic Design Week, taking place in Rovaniemi, Lapland, will focus on the theme Design for Happiness, with hopes to answer how design contributes to wellness and developing this impact into society. The headline award for Arctic Design Company of the Year is announced during the festival's awards night.

Boston Design Week

28–31 March, Reykjavík, Iceland
The city of Reykjavík transforms into "one big venue for design" for Iceland's 11th annual festival. Local designers partner with international names to host workshops for the public over four days, opening with a day of lectures. Designs usually embrace Icelandic culture and traditions.

Copenhagen Architecture Festival
4–14 April, Copenhagen, Denmark
Now in its sixth year, the 10-day Copenhagen Architecture Festival aims to explore the relationship between humans and architecture through a broad public program of talks, films, workshops and exhibitions.

Salone del Mobile
9–14 April, Milan, Italy
The Salone del Mobile is considered the most important furniture fair in the world. Alongside the main halls, this year's event will feature lighting exhibition Euroluce and office design showcase Workplace 3.0. Young designers show their work in the Salone Satellite area.

Milan Design Week
9–14 April, Milan, Italy
To coincide with the Salone fair, design also takes over the rest of the Italian city, making Milan's design week the biggest annual get-together in the calendar. Also known as Fuorisalone, the citywide event includes design districts Tortona, Brera and 5 Vie. Regular highlights include installations by COS, Lee Broom and Design Academy Eindhoven and exhibitions by Ventura Projects.

Kosovo Architecture Festival

Kosovo Architecture Festival is the largest annual event on architecture, urbanism and design in its region, with more than 40 individual events spread through July, August and September. Oslo Architecture Triennale
