Chinese designers Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu discussed their past and upcoming projects, as well as their research into China's disappearing village culture, during a lecture and on-stage interview with Dezeen's founder Marcus Fairs at Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair 2019.
Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu of Shanghai studio Neri&Hu were this year's guests of honour at the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair.
As guests of honour, the Chinese architects designed the main exhibition called The Unfolding Village, a long structure made from locally sourced timber, which is based on the narrow, sinuous alleyways found in many Chinese villages.
The installation was the result of recent research by Neri&Hu into the disappearing villages of China, which the duo discuss in their talk.
The pair also discussed their past and upcoming projects in China and abroad.
Dezeen was media partner for Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair 2019, which took place at Stockholmmassan in the Swedish capital.
We live streamed a number of talks on 6 February, including an earlier talk with designer Matti Klenell about the design of the new public spaces at Stockholm's Nationalmuseum, and a one-on-one conversation with French designer Matali Crasset.
The Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair 2019 took place from 5 to 9 February 2019.
