Dezeen Awards 2019 studio longlist announced
Established studios Rockwell Group, Studio Gang and Barber & Osgerby and emerging talents such as Mamou-Mani, Peter Pichler and Biasol are among 116 practices on the 2019 longlist for Dezeen Awards studio of the year and emerging studio categories.
The Dezeen Awards studio categories will name the most outstanding design talents of the past year.
Awards will be given to the best studios in each of the architecture, interior design and design categories, with studios founded less than 10 years ago competing in the emerging studio categories and more established practices battling to be named studio of the year.
Studios in the running to be named architect of the year include Danish firm C.F. Møller, Vietnamese studio Vo Trong Nghia Architects and Delft-based studio Mecanoo, while contenders for emerging architect of the year include London-based Con Form Architects and Dubai-based architecture practice Anarchitect.
Sweden-based Note Design Studio will battle with Conran + Partners in the interior designer of the year category, while emerging Spanish office OHLAB will compete against Brooklyn-based studio Dash Marshall and Soho House Design.
In the design categories, Studio Drift and Johannes Torpe Studios are both vying to be named designer of the year, while Bohinc Studio, OS & OOS and Timon & Melchior Grau are all hoping to be named emerging designer of the year.
