In our latest competition, we've teamed up with Lindley Lindenberg to offer readers the chance to win a three-night stay at the newly opened hotel in Frankfurt.
This competition has now closed. Congratulations to the winner, who is Lindsay Wilson from Richmond, UK.
Guests are encouraged to be part of the hotel community through spaces designed to attract people out of their hotel rooms and into the many shared living and lounge areas.
The winner will be treated to a three-night stay for two taking advantage of the various public spaces, as well as a vegetarian dining experience, a yoga session in the gym and drinks in the hotel's rooftop bar.
The glazed facade of the hotel displays the colourful communal rooms vertically stacked across seven floors, through which guests and passersby are invited to look in.
"The shared living spaces take up the full vertical height of the building," said Lindley Lindenberg. "This shop window turns the guest community into a visible part of city life."
On the southern side of the hotel, the cast-iron framed facade showcases the restaurant, event space, parlour, and Herb Room, as well as the bar and its rooftop terrace extension which looks over the city and river basin.
On the ground floor, the hotel's Leuchtendroter restaurant serves a vegetarian menu made using fresh ingredients grown in the Herb Room on the third floor.
A conference and event room called the Panopticon occupies the second floor and opens out to a double-height hall. Its geometric centrepiece installation by local artist Kathi Käppel is visible from the road.
Guests are invited to participate in whiskey tasting and relax in the parlour, whilst enjoying a novel from the library or listening to music from the curated record collection.
The dark grey-blue walls of the Panopticon shift to a mustard yellow in the parlour. The colour palette changes from room to room chosen to emphasise the shift between each shared living-space.
The third and fourth floors are alive with plant life and fresh herbs, complemented by pink walls. The Herb Room and one of the communal kitchens looks into the Tree Room, which occupies another double-height space on the southern facade.
Also found on the sixth floor, the fully equipped kitchens are designed to "form the foundation of togetherness" at the heart of the hotel.
Homegrown vegetables, fruit and produce from Lindenberg's own permaculture plot stock the refrigerators. Grown both inside the hotel and nearby, the produce aims to reduce transportation emissions.
In the basement storey, the Studio Blitz gym offers class sessions and individual training.
100 suites for both long-term and short-stay occupants are kept to a minimal size to encourage guests to experience the leisure spaces within the hotel.
High ceilings and large windows make the rooms appear more spacious to ensure a comfortable stay at night despite their small footprint.
Across the hotel, interior designer Studio Aberja combined the precise lines of old and new elements through arches and patterns. Refurbished classic furniture pieces including Thonet chairs, and vintage lamps by Frank Landau were used throughout.
"The concept is stylistically inspired by an imagined flowing transition and finely tuned dualism between the decorative playfulness of art nouveau and the new sobriety of art deco," the studio explained.
Shelves by Muller van Severen, custom lamps by Studio Aberja and over 500 artworks are also part of the hotel's furnishing.
The third hotel from the Lindenberg group, Lindley is located in the east of the city on the banks of the River Main.
The winner and their guest will be invited to a breakfast during their stay, tea at the bakery one afternoon and a dinner at Leuchtendroter. They will also have the opportunity to participate in one yoga session and a drink on the rooftop bar.
Flights to Frankfurt are not included in the competition prize.
Competition closes Tuesday 3 September. One winner will be selected at random and notified by email, and his or her name will be published at the top of this page. Flights are not included. Terms and conditions apply.
