Have you got your tickets for Dezeen Day yet? With just three weeks to go, here is a recap of what's happening at our architecture and design conference in London on 30 October plus a list of reasons why you need to attend.
Dezeen Day will set the agenda for architecture and design. With high-profile keynotes, electrifying discussions and plenty of networking opportunities, this is a unique opportunity to find out where architecture and design is heading.
Keynote speakers
Hear lectures from leading thinkers who will map out the future and explain how design is responding to climate change, technological advances and new scientific insights into the natural world. Our keynote speakers are Paola Antonelli, senior curator of architecture and design at The Museum of Modern Art in New York; artist and designer Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg; and speculative architect Liam Young.
Electrifying debates
Panel discussions will examine topics including new materials that could replace plastic, how to educate a new generation of architects and designers, and how cities need to adapt to new social, environmental and technological pressures.
Amazing networking
With delegates including senior figures from leading architecture and design firms, dozens of journalists, trend forecasters, property developers, fashion brands, educational establishments and more, Dezeen Day will be one of the best networking opportunities of the year. We've allowed plenty of time in the schedule for you to meet other delegates during breaks, during the delicious complimentary lunch and at a free drinks reception afterwards.
Enjoy London
For delegates coming from outside the city, this is a great opportunity to spend a day right in the heart of the city. Our venue, BFI Southbank, is right on the River Thames, and is part of the brutalist South Bank arts complex. Enjoy watching boats pass by as you sip your coffee, admire the London skyline over lunch and stroll back to your hotel along the pedestrianised south bank of the river. Check out world-class exhibitions at the neighbouring Hayward Gallery and Tate Modern, which is a short stroll away.
Get a free Herschel bag worth £60
Every attendee will get a free Hershel backpack that comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The Canadian brand is one of the sponsors of Dezeen Day, and they want to ensure all delegates go home with a long-lasting, high-quality product that will last for years.
Meet the Dezeen team
The day will be hosted by the Dezeen editorial team, with founder Marcus Fairs and other senior members of the team interviewing speakers and hosting panel discussions. Most of the rest of the Dezeen team will be in attendance so you can learn about the world's most popular and influential design magazine and find out about our services including our video studio, recruitment offerings Dezeen Jobs and Dezeen Recruit, and our Dezeen Awards programme. We look forward to welcoming you into the Dezeen family!
