Exhibitor: Studio Kali/Fulden Topaloglu
Project title: Sama Furniture Collection and Ege & Yakamoz Kilim Rugs
Studio Kali is a multidisciplinary design studio in Istanbul, founded by industrial designer Fulden Topaloglu.
The studio is introducing two of its latest collections, Sama and the Ege & Yakamoz Kilim Rug range, as part of the VDF collaboration with Ventura Projects.
Sama is a furniture collection defined by curved metal forms, which reference the traditional clothing worn during Sufi ceremonies. Each piece is made individually by local artisans in Istanbul.
The colourful Ege and Yakamoz Kilim Rugs pay homage to the Mediterranean Sea. They are handwoven by Anatolian weavers using traditional techniques, and wool that is stained with vegetable dyes.
Photography is by Avsar Gulener.
