Slovenia's Centre of Creativity looks beyond the present in its Tunnel 29 exhibit, which is on show as part of the VDF x Ventura Projects collaboration.
Exhibitor: MAO / Centre for Creativity
Project title: Tunnel 29, design for a post-apocalyptic world
Centre for Creativity is an interdisciplinary platform in Slovenia that connects, showcases and supports development of the country's creative sector.
It is presenting a selection of 30 products by Slovenian designers during VDF's collaboration with Ventura Projects in a dystopian exhibition called Tunnel 29.
Each project in Tunnel 29 was selected from an open call that invited designers to imagine a dark future where the natural environment has been destroyed, and life continues in a controlled, artificial environment.
Responses range from DIY furniture made of recycled plastics and objects made from invasive plants species and salvaged scrap metal.
According to the MAO, it asks viewers to reflect on the question: "how are the efforts to tackle such reality reflected in the design for tomorrow?".
