Viennese brand SAGAN has collaborated with Nigerian designer Kenneth Ize to create its colourful collection of Amaka and Ilorin bags.
Amaka and Ilorin form part of Ize's SS20 range. SAGAN married the shapes of its trademark Italian leather handbags with the his colourful checked fabrics, which are handwoven by artisans in Nigeria.
According to SAGAN, the collection is designed to tell "a story about friendship, love for craftsmanship and collaborative spirit".
The Amaka and Ilorin bags are complete with detailing made from cow horns, which is crafted by Hornmanufaktur Petz and makes each bag unique.
SAGAN is one of 15 brands and designers working in fields ranging from jewellery to footwear and fashion that Austrianfashion.net is spotlighting at the Virtual Design Festival.
Austrianfashion.net said that the handbags are "a testament to the creative power of the collaborative spirit, and the endless possibilities craftsmanship all over the world hides".
