Micha Weidmann, a graphic designer, typographer and art director who created the Dezeen logo, spoke to Dezeen in a live Screentime discussion as part of Virtual Design Festival.
Weidmann, who founded art direction and design agency Micha Weidmann Studio in 2001, spoke to Dezeen's founder and editor-in-chief Marcus Fairs about his work, including his long-standing collaboration with Dezeen.
The Swiss designer first began working with Dezeen in 2007, designing the logo we still use today as well as fully redesigning and restructuring the website. Weidmann was briefed to make the logo as simple as possible, and produced a typographic design using the Akzidenz Grotesk font.
Weidmann revamped the Dezeen site again in 2016, and has worked with us to develop identities for initiatives including Virtual Design Festival, Dezeen Day and Dezeen Awards.
Micha Weidmann Studio helps the creators of high-end products to develop their branding, and advises galleries on exhibitions, publications and online presence.
The graphic design studio has worked with a range of clients including Tate Modern, Foster + Partners, Caesarstone, David Chipperfield Architects, The Design Museum, Time Out magazine, Zaha Hadid and Swarovski.
