Dezeen Showroom: Emotional Lab is a modular storage system by interior designer Hania Jneid that can be adapted to suit various spaces and changing user needs.

Emotional Lab is intended for use in both residential and commercial interiors, and available with 15 different modular components that can be used in over 30 different configurations.

Modules include the Jar, a storage unit for small items like wallets and sunglasses, and three different types of lamps and flower pots. There are also hangers, mirrors and diffusers.

The minimum number of modules per Emotional Lab system is three, and the modules are available in several colours and materials, ranging from metals to ceramics and leathers.

The concept for the design derives from Jneid's memories of playful childhood objects and fascination for chemical reactions, to which she compares the system.

"Each time you acquire a module or change its location, you feel the magic of the chemical reaction, as if when you were a kid in a chemistry lab," said the Barcelona-based designer. "The design changes completely and you have a new chemical reaction."
