Clay Plasters Rustic Range by Clayworks
Dezeen Showroom: the sustainable Clay Plasters Rustic Range by Clayworks provides a rugged surface finish that can mimic the appearance of concrete, stone and earth.
UK brand Clayworks designed the Clay Plasters Rustic Range as a celebration of imperfection and to help add texture to internal walls and ceilings.
Like the company's other product lines, the range is made entirely from unfired clays that are mixed with natural pigments and minerals to ensure that it is eco-friendly.
The plaster has a thickness of between five and 10 millimetres, developed by Clayworks to offer a highly textured finish and allow skilled plasterers to create three-dimensional patterns with it.
According to the brand, this also means the material can be used to emulate the finish of popular materials like concrete, without harming the environment.
"Our rustic range has a huge array of textural variation and aesthetic possibility, from delicate to extremely course," explained the brand.
"Due to clay's unique characteristics it can be carved for storytelling, used to create three-dimensional effects and patterns," it explained. "The rustic range honours imperfection, texture, authentic rustic character, organic and raw."
Clayworks' use of natural materials to make the Clay Plasters Rustic Range ensures that the plaster is compostable and free from toxic ingredients, VOCs and formaldehyde.
It is also easy to repair, sound-absorbing and can help to regulate humidity and temperature of an interior space.
